Cranial/Dental/Thyroid Scan

A Cranial Dental Thyroid (CDT) scan offers a non-invasive, radiation free scan of the head and neck region.  Examining blood flow and heat patters of the head and neck region including the teeth allows for early detection and prevention of carotid artery disease (carotid stenosis) or transient ischemic attack (TIA or “mini-stroke”).

This usually occurs when one or both of the carotid arteries in the neck are blocked.   Blockage can be due to the buildup of fatty material and platelets along the arterial walls.

When a piece of deposit breaks off and blocks the arteries in the brain itself, blood flow is impaired an compromised which may lead to TIA or in severe cases, a stroke.

Pre-screening risk factors include hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, smoking obesity, family history and TIAs.  Using infrared imaging we are able to notice change in circulation in these arteries and will serve as helpful initial clues of stroke or TIA.

CDT imaging can be used for dental pathologies such as TMJ (tempromandibular joint)  disorders including TMJ osteoarthritis and TMJ arthropathy:

Aiding in the diagnosis of myofacial symptoms including,  chronic orofacial pain, chronic nerve injury, complex regional pain syndrome, pain evaluation and referred pain :

Headache and Sinus pain including maxillary sinusitis and whiplash injury:
