HCG Diet

  • What is HCG?

HCG is an FDA approved substance although it is not approved for weight loss. HCG is a naturally occurring hormone in the body of pregnant women. Its purpose, it is believed, is to release stored nutrients for the fetus. When the HCG is taken and there is no fetus present to use these nutrients, the body still releases the stored substances, and the body then gets rid of them, detoxifying through the elimination system. This enables the body to release stored toxins and fat.  You do not lose muscle mass, which is what occurs in other diets.

HCG has been researched since the 1950’s by Dr. Simeons and that research was published in 1970 in a book called Pounds and Inches. Additionally, the Homeopathic HCG plan for Speedy Weight Loss includes the research of Dr. D’Adamo, Food for Your Type and Dr. Mercola’s No Grain Diet.

Homeopathic HCG is the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin and it is homeopathically prepared per the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States.

  • What is the HCG weight-loss treatment?

The HCG weigh loss program serves to improve glandular and metabolic function while evoking fat loss and improvement of health.  It is a “holistic” program that encourages emotional and physical wellness which allows you to lose substantial stores of body fat and calibrate your metabolism.

Dr. Simeon’s discovered that using small amounts of HCG could reset and adjust the hypothalamus to operate at normal levels as well as burn the “mobile fat”(fat stored around the hips, thighs, belly and upper arms).  It will also leave the “structural fat” (fat found in muscles and protects organs) untouched.

  • How much weight can I expect to lose?

Weight loss varies between 0.5 pound and 3 pounds per day. The average for men being 1-2 pounds per day, and the average for women 0.5-1 pound a day.

  • Is it healthy to lose 1-2 pounds a day with HCG?

While losing 1-2 pounds daily without the use of HCG would be unhealthy, the HCG in fact changes this. You lose abnormal yellow fat and the weight loss comes directly from this fat loss and does not strip the body of the healthy fat.

  • Are there specific foods I should or should not eat while on the diet?

This will be discussed with you during your weight management consultation prior to starting the diet program.  Forms are to be filled out and brought to your first weight management consultation prior to starting the program.

  • Will I keep the weight off?

After the HCG diet, you will find your appetite has changed, your eating behavior will have changed and your body will of course, have changed. This is the perfect opportunity to adopt that healthy lifestyle to maintain your weight. You will find a minimum amount of exercise will be sufficient for maintaining a very healthy body- from yoga, to 15 minutes a day cardio a day, or whatever you enjoy, that you’re your heart moving. With your hypothalamus reset, your metabolism will be different and you will be able to eat moderately without feeling the need to overeat. Amongst the people who have tried this program, 75 to 90% have had hardly any or no difficulty keeping their new, ideal weight.

  • Why the 500 calorie diet?

HCG can cause your hypothalamus to mobilize the fat out of the fat storage locations so that it’s available for use. While you are only consuming 500 calories, your hypothalamus is continually releasing the fat stored in your body. Because of this, your body is actually operating on thousands of calories a day. The result is your body using thousands of calories from fat from your body each day, the reason HCG dieters lose 1-2 pounds of fat or more, per day.

  • Will I be hungry on 500 calories a day?

It is common for mild hunger during the first few days, however this will pass and by the 2nd week. You will find even very tiny servings, to be completely satisfying. This is partly due to your hypothalamus adjusting your metabolic rate, but largely due to the amount of calories circulating in your system from the fat being released. It is common that HCG dieters feel as though they are stuffing themselves in order to reach that 500 calorie limit.

  • What is the hypothalamus gland?

The hypothalamus gland moderates the thyroid, adrenals, fat storage, and more importantly, your metabolic rate.

  • What do you recommend during menstruation?

You can continue on the drops and protocol without any negative side effects reported.  Your body will probably retain excess water more during your cycle and you may not notice as much weight loss, however this will even itself out over time, try not to get discouraged. If you decide to stop taking the HCG during your cycle, but find your cravings or hunger intolerable, you can increase your protein by 1-2 oz on your heaviest days.

  • Do you qualify?

. You must need to lose at least 20 pounds

. You must commit to the food plan, an easy exercise plan and to taking the homeopathic HCG for a minimum of three weeks

. You must commit to contacting your doctor for changes in your prescription medicines (as you lose weight, your prescriptions may be too strong for you)

. You must be mentally and emotionally prepared to lose ½ – 1 pound per day

. Contraindications: Pregnant and nursing women and diabetics. Massages and body work are not recommended while on the program.

Birth Control: HCG homeopathic is ok to use while taking birth control – will not reduce its effectiveness.

. Less weight loss is experienced by women on hormone replacement therapy

. If you are menstruating woman, you must stop the HCG during your cycle.  **Dr. Simeons recommended that you stop taking the prescription HCG on your cycle, however, with homeopathic HCG we have found that you can continue without negative side effects.

Just as the daily dose of HCG is the same in all cases, so the same diet proves to be satisfactory for a small elderly lady of leisure or a hard working muscular giant.  Under the effect of HCG the obese body is always able to obtain all the Calories it needs from the abnormal fat deposits, regardless of whether it uses up 1500 or 4000 per day.  You will be living to a far greater extent on the fat which you are losing than on what you eat.

  • So do I just eat 500 calories and take some drops?

For the most effective and efficient treatment of weight loss and hormone balancing we recommend a liver/lymph detox along with a colon cleanse prior to starting the program.  Toxins tend to reside in fat deposits in the body, and when released rapidly (as with the HCG Diet) people will tend to not feel so great.
